Bestselling novelist Stephen King just asked a question that’s on everyone’s mind following the mass shooting in Sutherland Springs, TX.
“How many more have to die before we enact sane gun control laws?” King tweeted.
Mass shootings occur at rate of more than one per day in the United States.
Perhaps King’s question should be directed to the members of congress who collectively received $838,215 in campaign contributions from the National Rifle Association (NRA) during the 2016 election cycle.
Only one month ago, Republican members of Congress were pushing to pass a NRA-backed bill that eased restrictions on the purchase of silencers, but were forced to shelve the legislation after Stephen Paddock opened fire on a country musical festival in Las Vegas, murdering 58 people.
