Late night host Jimmy Kimmel and Senator John McCain (R-AZ) have overtaken the national spotlight today, and Cindy McCain just got in on the action.

This morning, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) officially declared his unwillingness to vote in favor of the controversial Graham-Cassidy healthcare bill.

Kimmel, who has become the unofficial face of the resistance against Republican efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare, tweeted out a gracious message to the key Senatorial holdout.

John McCain’s wife, Cindy McCain, then chimed in with a message that should restore our faith in humanity, if only momentarily.

This moment of kind human decency is a welcome distraction from what has become a decidedly ugly, divisive, secretive and partisan Republican campaign that ultimately amounted to stripping healthcare from 32 million Americans in an effort to undo former President Barack Obama’s key legislative achievement, the ACA (or Obamacare).

For three nights in a row, Kimmel has delivered passionate monologues imploring Senators to consider the grave consequences of the Republican-sponsored legislation. As for Senator Cassidy (R-LA), who went on Jimmy Kimmel’s show and promised to only support legislation that would pass the “Jimmy Kimmel test” only to fail that very test with his own iteration of the bill, Kimmel struck a much different tone.

“Stop using my name,” Kimmel demanded. “There’s a new Jimmy Kimmel test for you. It’s called a lie detector test.”
